In my last write-up, I spoke about how I’m currently living in an “anger-propelled change.” By God’s help, I’ve been working on systems and structures that would help me live better and walk in purpose.
But then—something happened.
I became sick. And it wasn’t ordinary.
The Pattern I Could No Longer Ignore
Over the years, I’ve noticed a recurring pattern, one I subconsciously ignored.
Every time I stand up to do something meaningful—something fruitful, something Spirit-led—the devil attacks.
And more often than not, he comes through sickness.
It’s not just the physical weakness.
It’s how it affects my mind—dulling my motivation, draining my energy, clouding my focus.
Eventually, it leaves me displaced—disconnected from the project, and far from the passion I started with.
And to be honest, being ill has always left me discouraged.
It often leads to frustration, isolation, and mental tiredness.
And in that state, it takes a lot of time—and grace—to get back up again.
This Time Was No Different
Same effects. Same silence.
Reduced communication with people around me.
And while life moves fast, I felt like I was being left behind.
But I’m not sharing this for pity.
I’m sharing this because I want you to know something important:
When you begin to rise into your calling, it isn’t only Christ who takes notice. The enemy does too.
The Bible Makes It Clear
When Jesus was born, the devil stirred Herod to kill him.
When Moses was born, Pharaoh ordered the death of Hebrew boys.
Anytime light rises, darkness resists.
That resistance often comes at a personal cost:
Loneliness. Misunderstanding. Delays. Discouragement.
And yes—sometimes, even your closest friends won’t fully get it.
Just like Jesus in Gethsemane—asking his disciples to stay awake and pray, only to find them asleep.
But It Doesn’t Have to End There
Yes, these moments are tough.
But life doesn’t have to stay this way.
As believers in Christ, there is a greater provision:
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” — Romans 8:28
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” — 1 Peter 5:8
So as I begin to pick myself up again, I want you to know—you’re not alone.
These trials don’t mean you’re losing. They mean you’re dangerous to the kingdom of darkness.
And if you’ll stay with God through the suffering, you’ll see a glory that far outweighs the pain.
Don’t give up. Don’t bow out. And don’t believe the lie that your breakthrough wasn’t real. What you started with God, He will finish. And the devil won’t have the final say.
